CHICHEN ITZA
On the Mexican peninsula of YUCATAN, the Maya founded Chichen Itza, ‘City of Pyramids’, in the fifth century.
Relief-type pictures and sculptures describe the customs and gruesome rituals of this submerged yet advanced civilisation. Pe peninsula mexicană YUCATAN, mayașii au fondat Chichen Itza, „Orașul Piramidelor”, în secolul al V-lea.
Imaginile și sculpturile de tip relief descriu obiceiurile și ritualurile înfiorătoare ale acestei civilizații scufundate, dar avansate. Stâlpii de piatră și plăcile de mozaic arată cultura foarte dezvoltată a poporului Maya, iar imagini complexe ilustrează cunoștințele avansate ale acestora despre astronomie, matematică și arhitectură.
Aici, armonia vieții date de Dumnezeu a fost menținută numai prin împlinirea strictă a tuturor poruncilor divine. Totuși, aceasta a necesitat multe sacrificii umane...
